Upcoming Classes

My Classes are Technique or Product based and I work very hard to ensure that you will leave class confident in your ability to recreate the technique on your own.  All classes will include Instruction sheets and colour copies of the cards as well.

Whether you are a beginner or have been crafting for years, my classes will inspire you without being overwhelming, and you can be sure of an enjoyable experience filled with neat tips and cute Ella stories!

Below is a list of classes that I will be teaching in the next month.  If you are interested in any of them, please contact the store listed to register.  If your Local Scrapbooking store holds classes, and you are interested in one of my upcoming techniques, please let them know that I do travel outside of BC… you never know, I could be in your town next!

“Nature’s Shadows” Powder Painting Technique Card Class

Are you bored of single step embossing techniques?
Do you have stamps that seem like too much work to “colour”?

Jessie Hurley has created this ALL NEW class using one of her FAVOURITE techniques… colouring with Embossing powders!

We will be using Ranger, Imagine and Stampendous embossing powders to “colour” stunning Penny Black stamps, and create beautiful embossed images.
Jessie will show you how easy it is to emboss your stamps perfectly, while creating multi-coloured images that will delight your eyes!

Do you have a stash of Colour sprays from various companies and are looking for a cool new way to use them?

Jessie Hurley has created and awesome “Masculine” card class to showcase her “faux shattered” background technique.  These cards have to be seen in person as the effect is incredible!

Join Jessie Classes & Pop Up Shoppe

Ready for an adventure?  I’m about to embark on a Tour around town taking my classes to cities where Scrapbook stores have closed their doors… “Join Jessie” in Burnaby, North Vancouver and Port Moody for awesome classes and temporary Pop-Up Shoppes.

Products to be found at the Shoppe are items used in the specific class being presented as well as cool Trinkets and Treasures that you can’t find anywhere else.  If you would like to just check out the shoppe, you may do so during the times mentioned in the class descriptions.

Payment must be made before the day of the class, and is non-refundable, but is transferable to another “Join Jessie” class.  Please e-mail Jessie directly to sign up for these exciting classes at [email protected]

“Join Jessie” Event in North Vancouver

Each “Join Jessie Event” Class includes Refreshments (Coffee, Tea & Water and lunch provided by The Pantry Restaurant), a Swag bag, Door prizes and Colour Pictures and Instructions for the project created.

If you sign up for BOTH Event Classes, you will receive a $10 discount which will be applied to the Class Fee Total.

A class discount will also be applied to products in the Pop-Up Shoppe.

Playing with Purpose Art Journal Class

It’s BACK!!!  As per your pleading, begging, cajoling, and just basic Fabulous support of Jessie’s Art Journal Class, it’s back on the schedule… with some minor changes…

How many of you have been pinning pages you would like to do, but aren’t entirely sure where to begin…?

And how many of those pins do you ACTUALLY think you will get to?

All the pages in these classes will be “Pintrest Inspired”, and “Jessie Instructed”…  though I will “Jessify” them up, I will show you the original inspiration, and guide you through the steps so that you can see how easy it is for YOU to re-create Pintrest pages that inspire YOU!

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to fill my journals again, so join me each month for a playdate full of inspiration, encouragement and loads of giggles!

HOMEWORK to complete BEFORE Class

Apply Crackle Embossing paste (any brand, but I used Prima’s Platinum Crackle Paste) randomly to the surface of both pages using your palette knife.  You should cover about 1/3rd of the page.

Mandatory Supplies to bring to class

Journal with page prepped as described above

Acrylic paint in 2 or 3 colours (I used Light Green, Dark Green, and Light Pink)

Several 1″ paint brushes to apply paint

Matte or Gloss Medium

1″ paint brush to apply the medium

1 or 2 Detail paint brushes

Stencils (I used a Flourish, and an alphabet)

Distress Inks in Black, Red and Dark Green (I used Soot, Brick and Forest)

Sponges to apply ink through the stencils

Black Permanent Marker

Heat Gun

Do you have a ton of embossing powders in your collection of crafting supplies? Have you wondered if your powders can be used to create cool and interesting techniques for all your projects?

Well, they can! And Jessie Hurley has created a class to show you 10 “outside the box” ways to use your embossing powders.

In this class you will learn how to have a perfectly embossed image every time you stamp! You will get to try your hand at Utee, learn to emboss stamps using Tombow Markers, create neat Resist Techniques, experiment with “Frantage” and MORE!

Like all of Jessie’s Technique Tag classes, this workshop will be full of useful tips, and printed instructions will be provided for EVERY technique learned in class!

    One hing I forgot to ask, if you were to try these techniques with Pearl ex would you need to add a fixative?
