Scrumtious Rice Krispie Squares to Die for!

I’m always saying how awesome my customers are when it comes to sharing, but how about this! Not only did Sheryll bring in these tasty treats for last weeks class (and still warm I might add) she also e-mailed me the recipe to share with all of you.

She warned me though, that I may never go back to regular rice krispy squares, and I must pass that warning on to all of you, ’cause she’s right! These suckers are AWESOME!

Rice Krispie Squares to Die for3/8 cup butter or margarine (maybe a smidge more)
4 regular size Mars bars chopped up (don’t use the King Size pack with 2 bars, cuz they are shorter than the regular ones, and you won’t have enough of the good stuff)
3 cups Rice Krispies
1/2 cup caramels with 1 Tbsp water
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Melt butter or margarine over low heat in large saucepan. Add Mars bars, and stir constantly until melted. The mixture will look a bit gross, as it separates and gets stringy, but stirring will bring it back to smooth. After it’s all melted stir in the krispies. Press into a greased 8 X 8 pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over mixture while it’s still hot and press them in a bit with the back of your spoon. Melt the caramels with the water in the microwave (about 1 minute) stir to blend, then drizzle over the krispie mixture. Cool (or not) and cut into squares. These will get very crispy a lot sooner than the regular kind, so they need to be stored in an airtight container (if there are any left to store…tee hee)
